Let's apply the math “ratios” to cooking and baking.
When you use ratios, you can...
make 24 cookies using a recipe for 12 cookies in a cookbook.
convert the units used in recipes from other countries' cookbooks into the units used in the United States.
This article shows how to convert units using mathematics.
Suppose you have ordered a cookbook from Japan and decided to make Japanese Fried Chicken. Fortunately, you can read Japanese and understand the contents, but the units used in the recipe differ from those in the U.S., so you need to know how much you will use. In such a case, let's try to convert units using mathematics.
Japanese Fried Chicken Recipe (for 2 people)

200g Chicken Thigh
1 tsp ground garlic
1 tsp ground ginger
a little of salt and black papper
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp rice wine
2 tbsp mayonnaise
30g potato starch
20g flour
some vegetable oil
Now, let's first calculate how many ounces of chicken we need. (1g≒0.035oz)

Did you get the idea from the video? We need 7oz of chicken.
Then calculate how much potato starch we need.

It's 1.05 oz.
How was that? As before, I showed you some very practical ways to use math. I would be delighted if you found helpful math. There is also an exercise for you to try.
